VGA 2011

VGA 2011 has ended which was a impressive show. Many new trailers with a couple new ip's announced. And finally got to see more on Diablo 3, with the intro video to the game. Which I thought was freakin amazing. Blizzard does such a awesome job when it comes to intro videos. I always loved the World of Warcraft intro's. And Diablo 3's intro showed that they still got it. I was very impressed with it and just made me even more anxious to play the game. Another new trailer was the second installment to Alan Wake, entitled "Alan Wake: American Nightmare". Although no release date was mentioned, it looks incredible. It was a very awesome trailer that has now got me super stoked for it. It showed off a few new things. Like what seemed to be a UZI or a Glock which Alan Wake was using. Also seems like we'll get to know a little more about "Mr.Scratch" for those who haven't finished the first game won't know what I'm talking about but I won't spoil it. I suggest all xbox owners buy that game ASAP, it truly is a great adventure. They also promised more twists and turns like of that from the original and more of that "dark feel" that the first game had (which I loved).
Cliffy B announced a new ip called "Fortnite". It was just a teaser trailer but it was definitely good enough to grab my attention. I love Epic Games, and seeing a new ip from them is just plain awesome. I can not wait to see more from this title. From the looks of it, it had a similar look to Team Fortress 2. I got the impression also that it will be a 4 player co-op game. Another guess is a Tower-Defense game. Seeing how in the trailer, a group of people built a fort and closed it up just in time. Because when night hit, strange purple looking creatures rouse from the ground and went after the fort. And not to mention the title implies Tower-Defense a bit "Fortnite". I am very interested and can not wait too see more of it.
We also got a new look at Metal Gear Solid Rising which is actually now called "Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance" I personally think it's pretty cool, a tad long for a name but not too bad. "Revengeance" is a really cool word, I'm really digging it, I 'll have to use it more often.
Anyways, plenty of awards giving out but most were just briefly mentioned (Due to time issues, they couldn't give out all of them). But a few including Game of the Year were giving out. Game of the year was no surprise. Did I agree? can't really say for sure yet. But then again I have yet to post my awards, so stay tuned for a full list mine, including GOTY.
Shigeru Miyamoto got a very special honor at the VGA's. Shigeru Miyamoto recieved the Spike VGA 2011 Hall of Fame award for his work on The Legend of Zelda. A very emotional Shigeru Miyamoto accepts the award and thanks all of the fans for the support over the years. This award was very well deserved, I can't think of anyone better for this award. He is a man that not only makes games but he truly shows his love for his work. And it's really nice to see someone love what they do so much. The day he steps down from game making will be truly the saddest day in video game history.
